Job Description:

The mission of Kleos Children's Community in one of prevention, redemption, preservation, conservation, and rehabilitation of both child and family. Our efforts include the expression of love, wisdom and education, with emphasis on constructive attitudes toward problems, and the intellectual and spiritual growth of children towards mature manhood and womanhood.

Since 1988, Kleos Children's Community has been working to protect children in need by providing homes, and loving care. We serve both male and female children, from birth through 17 years old, who have been abused, neglected, troubled, or at risk youth.

Kleos Children's Community seeks to teach the art of effective daily living to troubled children. Residents often come with little ability to build meaningful relationships, control impulses, achieve academically, or form responsible moral codes. Our goal is to treat the whole person and prepare him or her for productive adulthood.

The primary responsibility of Houseparents is to establish and maintain a relationship with the children placed in their care. They need to demonstrate commitment, acceptance, friendship, affection, and respect for the children. Houseparents should have a stable, loving marital relationship and should be mature, responsible, and capable of presenting themselves as roll models for the children in their care. They should be committed Christians with a developed faith and dedicated to childcare as a ministry.

Houseparents must be at least twenty-one years old, possess a high school diploma or its equivalent, and have first aid/CPR certification. It is highly desirable for Houseparents to have some college level training in social or behavioral sciences, or at least four years experience in childcare.
